Mission
The mission of ECSECC is to be a multi-stakeholder centre of excellence in applied policy research, development planning and facilitation.
Values and Principles
ECSECC continues to be driven by a mix of values that obtain from the Liberation Struggle in our country together with that of internationally competitive, “cutting-edge” socio-economic policy research institutes. Core values and principles include:

Goals
Strategic Goal 1: Development and implementation of effective and efficient ECSECC management and governance systems and procedures.
Strategic Goal 2: Develop strategies and facilitate initiatives that protect jobs, create decent work, and accelerate structural transformation of the provincial economy.
Strategic Goal 3: Build the strategic and technical capacity of the state at provincial and local level to accelerate delivery of quality infrastructure and services.
Strategic Goal 4: Support communities of development practice to engage effectively in policy formulation, implementation and development practice.
Strategic Goal 5: To be the socio-economic Information Hub for the Eastern Cape Province.
Strategic Goal 6: Enhance human capital formation in the Eastern Cape Province.
Strategic Goal 7: Manage the HIV and AIDS response in the province.
