Official Youth Day event to be held in the Eastern Cape

The year 2022 marks the 46th Anniversary since the 1976 Student uprising which is annually commemorated as Youth Day in South Africa. This year’s Youth Month is being commemorated under the theme "Promoting sustainable livelihood and resilience of young people for a better tomorrow”. Government launched the official Youth Month programme on Thursday 02 June 2022, in Soweto, Gauteng. The official Youth Day event will take place on 16 June 2022, at Mthatha Stadium here in the Eastern Cape.
